The Nasty Women Exhibition + CAMIBAart Group Show

Hey everyone,

I am very excited and proud to be participating in the Nasty Women Exhibition, which is a group exhibition that serves to demonstrate solidarity among artists who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights, and abortion rights.  It also serves as a fundraiser to support organizations defending these rights and to be a platform for organization before the Trump Presidential Inauguration in January.

There are currently other Nasty venues that are going on all over the country and I highly encourage anyone interested to submit artwork!  I will have pieces for sale at the Knockdown Center in New York and the AP Art Lab in San Antonio, Texas.  100% of proceeds will benefit Planned Parenthood, so this is a great way to support local women artists and women's healthcare.  Find more information and other venues here.

Today, The Huffington Post just covered the Nasty Women Exhibition!  Roxanne Jackson, who is featured in the article, is the founder of the Nasty Women Exhibition and was also my 3D Design professor at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.  I am very happy to see that activism, feminism, women's rights, and women's healthcare are gaining traction in the art world!  As a bisexual woman of Jewish heritage, a feminist artist, and Planned Parenthood member, I am very proud to be a part of this grassroots movement.

Check out more articles about the Nasty Women Exhibition on Hyperallergic, Artnet, ArtSlant, VICE, and The Guardian!

I'm happy to report that both of my Nasty Women submissions sold, raising a total of $200 for Planned Parenthood!

Lastly, I currently have seven works for sale in a new group show with other fantastic gallery artists at CAMIBAart Gallery on 2000 East 6th Street, Austin, TX 78702.  The gallery hours are:

Saturday and Sunday: 11am - 5pm
other times by appointment

If you are in the Austin or central Texas area, please go visit!

Hillary, we're STILL with you! <3 <3 <3
"In Planar Camo" is a feminist cyber-queer anthem.  I first used this work to promote Hillary's campaign on Facebook, and now I am proud that it will serve to support women's rights and healthcare moving forward.
